Volunteers Needed - NIPD 2025

All of Yellowknife (and beyond) is invited to join us on June 21st to celebrate National indigenous Peoples Day! For 20+ years, NSMA has hosted a free fish fry for the community.

We would not be able to run this event without the support of our volunteers and funders. If you are interested in volunteering this year, please contact our office (general@nsma.net / 867-873-6762). We are looking for the following:

• Gear and equipment loading into trucks and trailers at NSMA's Metcor Building

• Food preparation at NSMA Metcor Building (bannock making, corn chucking, vehicle loading)

• June 20: Set up at Somba K'e Civic Plaze (apx 8 am - 3 pm)

• June 21: Event at Somba K'e Civic Plaza (apx 8 am - 6 pm)

  • help with cutting and breading fish, cooks, servers, and tent take down

If you are interested in setting up a booth to sell traditional crafts and artwork, please reach out to us ASAP.
